Since the New 52, the only two DC-published comics that have held my attention have been Batwoman and Wonder Woman.
I don’t understand what DC has been doing re: the female segment of their readership. They’ve pushed multiple women characters out of EXISTENCE, pushed multiple women out of working for the COMPANY, and now they’re running advertisements that purposely degrade comic fans as “not being enough of a fan” and thus “fake nerds” — with a heavy emphasis on the FEMALE NERD.
Why? Why why why why? The marketshare for people still buying and reading comics has been dropping for years. Everyone knows this. The whole point of The New 52 was to give people a jumping on point without all the years and years of history - so new readers wouldn’t be intimidated. SO WHY WOULD YOU LIMIT YOUR AUDIENCE APPEAL AT THE OUTSET?
Christ, DC. Get a CLUE.
